Life as a newbie

My first three months in a career? Crazy.

My first three months in recruitment? Even crazier.

Never did I ever think I would end up being where I am now, especially after my year 10 work experience confirmed I didn’t want an office job for the rest of my life. Getting here has been a weird mix of emotions, but I honestly couldn’t be happier.

I signed my contract back in March ready for when I left college in June, thinking I had plenty of time to prepare but it was still a shock to the system.

17 and my first real job, in a real office, with real colleagues – do you know how weird that is?!

I didn’t exactly pick the easiest industry to go into either, it’s hugely competitive. My first candidate call I was shaking like a leaf and my first client visit I was a complete wreck! I have the best team though, and they support me every baby step of the way (when they’re not laughing at me first that is).

First jobs are scary, you can never be too prepared and you can never know what to really expect. All you can do is work your hardest and try and have some fun with it – I know we do!
